The Blink Indoor and Outdoor, XT and XT2 feature a rubberized cover over the USB port. Keep in mind that when power returns, your battery indicator for this camera will display the batteries as ‘OK’ due to the USB power, when the batteries may actually be low or depleted. If you are going to store your Blink system for an extended time period, we recommend removing the batteries from the cameras. If only your Sync Module is offline and your WiFi is functional, your camera may still detect motion and record and upload clips for a short time period. However in this case, if both your Sync Module and WiFi router are not running on backup power, your camera will not function. If the camera is powered by USB with batteries installed and the power goes out, the camera will continue to run on the available battery power. Please use only size AA 1.5 volt Lithium non-rechargeable batteries – DO NOT USE any Lithium-Ion, alkaline, or rechargeable batteries. Also keep in mind, there will be some drain on your batteries even when your device is powered by a USB cable. If the camera is plugged in while the batteries are in the camera – the batteries will not recharge. The Lithium batteries that are included with the Blink system are NOT rechargeable. It is possible to use batteries and the USB cable at the same time, however there are some important points to remember.
